Moretti is an Italian lager that is fast becoming the new Peroni.

It's brewed in a traditional way, with the only ingredients being water, malted barley, maize and hops. A lovely light golden colour, it goes well with food (hence its often available in restaurants) but of course on its own as well.

If you've not tried Moretti but like a premium beer, give it it a go. If you like Moretti, it's well priced.

We all know Malta as a small group of rocky Mediterranean Islands but we didn’t know they were creating a stir with their own award-winning lagers and beers. Cisk (pronounced 'Chisk') Lager Beer is one of these winners.

They call it a Lager Beer, but for all intents and purposes it’s a lager, to be served cold and enjoyed in the sun.  Like any traditional Bavarian style brew, it’s a hoppy thirst quencher, or session lager, with a low to medium ABV of 4.2%.

When we were little lads, you wouldn’t catch us near a grapefruit. Sour and sharp, the only joy to be had from eating one was cutting it in half and covering it in sugar. About 3 tablespoons of sugar. And don’t even get us started on grapefruit juice.

Pacifico Clara is a golden, refreshing Mexican lager brewed at the Pacifico brewery in the port city of Mazatlán in the state of Sinaloa. They've been making beer there for over 100 years.

This is an excellent lager, made with good quality ingredients and its clean, crisp flavour is enhanced if you add a wedge of lime.

It can be really good fun and rewarding thing to do; taking the time to learn and go through the set up properly, to watch the fermentation process happen, to decant your own beer into bottles and then finally, after a few weeks waiting - the tasting. If you are a fan of dark wheat beer, you will probably love Erdinger. It comes from one of the largest German breweries in Bavaria and this beer is rich, smooth with a chocolaty taste and aroma.

It's imported so isn't as cheap as we'd like but when served chilled is a real treat.

You love beer so much you can now even dress like a pint! This cotton/polyester combo is decent quality, and good fun for a night out with the boys, holidays and BBQ's.

Lots of other designs to choose from as well but this is our fave, and will make a good fun gift, that we do think actually looks pretty cool. You can even go the whole hog and get shorts to match. One thing to note is that delivery can take 8+ days, so beer that in mind.

Big Wave is a light golden ale, with a tropical hop aroma. It's a nice refreshing pint, and the use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and will soon have you feeling like you are surfing at Waikiki Bay.
